Ukraine has officially presented the Long Neptune cruise missile, an expanded and modernized version of the R-360 Neptune model, originally developed for anti-ship attacks.

The new weapon stands out due to its larger size, resulting from increased fuel and explosive capacity, which allows its range to extend up to 1,000 kilometers.

The missile received design improvements, including changes to the front section, likely to accommodate a larger warhead and an updated guidance system. During the cruise phase, navigation is carried out via a satellite positioning system, while in the final attack phase, targeting is handled by infrared sensors. The control surfaces have also been enlarged, providing greater maneuverability despite the increased weight.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the Long Neptune can be launched from the same systems used by the previous version, facilitating operational integration.

In March 2025, authorities confirmed that the missile had already undergone tests and was successfully employed in combat, achieving precise results against targets.
